During the small-group tour, which is limited to 12 people, you will have the opportunity to learn about Iceland’s culinary history and traditions. You will sample at least 10 Icelandic foods, including Icelandic meat soup, skyr, lobster soup, and the much-loved Icelandic lamb hot dog from the original food stall dating back to 1937.

The tour will start at Ingolfstorg Square, where you will meet your professional guide. From there, you will head to the old Reykjavik harbor for an appetizer of Icelandic shellfish soup. Then, you will visit a local supermarket to check out some unique Icelandic foods, snacks, and candy.

Next, you will stop at the Icelandic Bar (Islenski Barinn) to try the Icelandic lamb soup, along with other traditional foods. The tour will end at the unique Café Loki by Hallgrimskirkja church, where you will have the opportunity to try several Icelandic delicacies, including the unique Ryebread Icecream. You will celebrate your food journey together with a non-alcoholic or alcoholic drink of your choosing, such as a special beer or the one and only Icelandic snaps. If you are lucky enough to be on the tour during the weekend, you will also have the chance to stroll through the authentic small food market inside the Reykjavik Flea Market and discover all kinds of very traditional Icelandic foods.
