Chicago Food Tour – The destination

The third largest city in the United States, Chicago is nicknamed “The Windy City”. Swept by the wind from nearby Lake Michigan, the capital of 1920s gangsters and jazz is also the cradle of modern architecture with skyscrapers competing with creativity in the Loop district. A trip to Chicago is a true cultural getaway with nearly 40 museums including the Art Institute, the second largest museum in the U.S. after the Met in New York. Chicago also has many green spaces, the newest of which, Millennium Park, hosts jazz concerts in its outdoor auditorium in the summer.

Born on the ruins of the fire that destroyed the city in 1871, Chicago is a city that never stops reinventing itself, resolutely turned towards the future. It invented the skyscraper and is still today a laboratory of urban modernity. A progressive city, champion of the fight for civil rights, it propelled the political career of the young Obama. Sung by Franck Sinatra or by Kanye West, “Chi City” is also a city where life is good, bordered by Michigan, its lake with turquoise waters and its miles of beach.
